At our Foundation, we are dedicated to safeguarding the rights of all citizens, with a special focus on the empowerment of women and children. Driven by the principles of equality and education, our founder, Reshma Arif, continues the legacy of her father, the late Mohammed Ishaq Ilmi, former editor of Siasat Jadid, who was a staunch advocate for girls’ education and encouraged women to become transformative agents in society.
Inspired by John Dewey’s belief that “Education is not the preparation for life; education is life itself,” we are committed to empowering the next generation, boys and girls alike, to reach their maximum potential and evolve into responsible citizens of our nation. In recent times, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted educational systems worldwide, widening gaps in access and opportunity between different socioeconomic groups and genders. With the rise of online education, this disparity has only increased, with the benefits largely tilted toward the elite and male students. Our Foundation is actively seeking and implementing integral solutions to bridge these gaps, ensuring quality learning opportunities for all children.
Our mission goes beyond education. We are resolute in our stand against child violence and child labor, advocating for safe and supportive learning environments. We are equally dedicated to women’s empowerment, drawing strength from the words of Swami Vivekananda: “There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved.” We recognize the critical role women play in society and seek to address the persistent challenges they face—domestic violence, economic and legal marginalization, and social inequalities. Our Foundation is committed to advocating for the rights of domestic violence survivors, widows, elderly women, and other underprivileged women and girls, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive.
